VINTAGE 1950s Civil Defense Radar Center Electronic Cold War Toy w Box RARE Collectable. Condition is Used AND NOT WORKING.
*UNFORTUNATELY THIS TOY DOES NOT WORK WHEN 3 D BATTERIES ARE PLACED INSIDE.*
This is a Cold War interactive electronic toy. Includes instructions, Russian and American plane identification sheet and North America Defense Map. Also included is the plastic chart board showing the US for pegs to be put in to show cities under attack. Only includes two pegs and what appears to be one broken peg. The box is also included but please note it is missing a side flap and partial front flap. It does not really affect the overall appearance if intended to display. Also note that the North America defense map is tearing in the center where the fold is.
Box measures 13.5"L by 11.25"T by 5.5"W.
Originally released by Product Miniature Toys, I have read that this toy had a one year release around 1956.
I was unable to get any of the electronic gadgets to work when the required (but not included) three D batteries are inserted. All parts appear to be original. There is one black piece that is seen in the picture with the red pegboard. I do not know where this piece goes or if it is even a part of this set. PLEASE NOTE THERE DOES APPEAR TO BE A COUPLE MISSING SCREWS NEAR THE REAR PANEL'S BOTTOM.
I DID NOT TAKE THIS TOY APART TO LOOK INSIDE. I AM ALSO NOT FAMILIAR WITH WHAT SHOULD BE INSIDE FOR IT TO WORK. SELLING AS IS!

WHAT WORKS:
Antenna goes up and down when manually pushed or pulled.
Lever at upper right when pushed down and released shows Chicago, Seattle and San Francisco but does not appear to be spinning correctly because the sticker is beginning to peel up.
The radio antenna red knob does turn but does not appear to work anything. Maybe just for show.
WHAT DOES NOT WORK:
Horn alarm does not sound when knob is pushed down.
Scope lever does not light up and the planes do not move across screen as they should.
The 'Friend or Foe' knob at mid left does not show a green light for friend or red light for foe.
The telegraph key does not make any noise when pushed.
Radar at top of toy does not go around.
The knob which controls radar scope should show planes moving but does not.
Please take a look at all pictures to determine condition and completeness for yourself before deciding to make a purchase.
