    Description

    This sale is for an original New-on-card NS Meyer/ Meyer Insignia, distinctive unit insignia (DUI/DI) crest for the 47th Infantry Regiment. Based on the NS Meyer Hallmarks, card label, and Ballou clutches, this DI dates to about 1955. It is in as-new condition, with shiny clutches and no indications of use or wear. It is regulation size (about 1 inch by 1-1.4 inch).  A beautiful crest and hard to find on its original card.
    The design for this crest was approved by the Army's Institute of Heraldry on March 20, 1936.  It takes its canton from the 9th Infantry, from which the unit was organized for WWI. The unit saw service in WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. This item ships free USPS First class mail.
