    Description

Easy, All In One Test Kit For Rapid Detection Of Salmonella in Wet/Dried Food Environments | Kit Contains Culture Media Recommended by The FDA's BAM Method - No False Positive/Negative Results
All-In-One Tube Test Salmonella is reliable test kit for the 24 h detection of Salmonella spp. on food contact surfaces, processing equipment, environments (floors, drains, walls, ceilings, doors, aprons, gloves, footwear) and solid food surfaces (eggs, meat/poultry, seafood, fruit/vegetables, cheese).
A color change of solid culture medium from green to orange is considered positive.
No equipment/culture media preparation needed. Single tube contains two selective culture media recommended by the FDA Bacteriological Analytical Manual (BAM) Chapter 5: Salmonella. The medium in liquid phase is formulated with the modified substrates of BAM Media M132 which support growth of Salmonella against both high and low levels of competitive microflora. The medium in sold phase is formulated with the chromogenic substrates which increase sensitivity of the test.
Benefits: Easy-to-use with no preparation steps required. Color results are easy to interpret – orange indicates presence of Salmonella spp. Positive results in as little as 18 hours for both food and environment samples. Self-contained tube eliminates risk of contamination. No Incubator needed Two month shelf life at refrigerated temperature (~ 4 C).
Sensitivity: Detect Salmonella species down to 1-10 cells
    Directions:
    1. Fill the test tube with 12 mL of MB2 Blue.
    2. Pre-moisten a cotton swab with neutralizing buffer (NB) prior to sampling.
    3. Thoroughly swab a standard 12 x 12 in area of interest for a typical surface.
    4. Insert the swab into the test tube.
    5. Screw the cap on tightly.
    6. Incubate at 35 - 37 C for 18 - 24 hours. If incubator is not available, incubate at room temperature (72 - 75 F or 22 - 24 C) for 40 - 48 hours
    7. After incubation, invert the test tube 3 - 4 times and then read the color just below Tube line 2.
Interpretation: Result is positive when the color just below tube line 2 turns orange
