Description
Beautiful private purchase West German Bundeszollverwaltung (Federal Customs service) tunic from the 1950s-ealry 60s which holds the rank of Zolloberinspektor (customs inspector). This example is tailor made and many elements of the tunic are hand stitched and features a lovely silk lining. Size is on the larger size but fits mannequins very well. This uniform was frist introduced in 1952 and was in service until 1972 when the customs service held a vote to change the uniforms to a less militaristic look and adopted the civilian blazer style of uniforms. This are very rare and often mislabeled as "ww2 customs" or "ww2 foresty". The Bundeszollverwaltung often worked with the Bundesgrenzschutz on the border of West Germany during the Coldwar.
