The Newcon LRM 1500M is one of Newcon Optik's newest laser rangefinder monoculars. This is the result of many years of research and development and is designed to address the requirements of thousands of LRM users around the world.
The LRM 1500M is for users requiring basic functionality and high reliability. It features a true measurement range of 1,500m (NATO target) and can recall 10 measurements from device memory.
Laser rangefinders work by flashing invisible, eye-safe laser pulses at targets, then recording the time that it takes the reflected light to return. Using a time-of-flight algorithm rangefinders like the LRM-1500M can easily calculate distances to an accuracy of +/- 1-yard in less than half a second.
The LRM-1500M’s rich assortment of on-screen features include selectable reticles (crosshair or square dot), selectable units of measure (yards or meters), a target quality indicator and a low battery warning. The unit also memorizes the last 10 range measurements for instant recall.
