Description
Martin B-57B guidance indicator, part of APA-90 radar indicator group. This rare indicator was used in conjunction with APW-11A radar guidance system to permit ground tracking of aircraft with capability to send coded commands to B-57B pilot on its bombing run mission. Historical/technical information on this rare item can be found at the following link(document page 134):https://www.readcube.com/articles/10.21236%2Fadb191132
The coded commands sent from ground station would be illuminated on this indicator, which would include: turns in degrees, bomb, strafe, rocket and even return to base commands to name a few. Item is NOS and includes all the possible commands assigned to a particular mission. Needless to say, this was state of the art back in 1950's and as such the document referenced in the link above was marked secret.
A rare item for the collector looking for something unique to add to their collection. Buyer receives exactly what is shown in listing pictures. Item will be packed in its original box, carefully packed and shipped in another box. Please, review pictures and ask any questions you may have before purchase.
