For sale- a Hill-Rom TotalCare Bed System In-Bed Scale/GCI/Bed Exit Upgrade Kit Part Number P1947A100.
The kit was sealed in a box until I opened it to see what was inside.
I may have others just like it, but I wanted to see what all was in a sealed box in order to know what may or may not be missing in the others.
From the included instructions- “The scale upgrade kit includes parts to add these features to the bed: scale, Graphical Caregiver Interface (GCI) Control, and Bed Exit.”
I think the GCI (as pictured) is pretty self explanatory, and the scale upgrade looks like it includes the 4 load sensors that would provide the scale inputs.
And I guess the bed exit just uses the load sensor inputs to know that whoever is supposed to be in the bed has gotten up, which maybe they ought not to do unattended.
Again, the Hill-Rom box this stuff came in was sealed when I got it, so it should be everything you need, so as long as you have done your homework there should be no need to return it.
The instructions note that for a K model or earlier bed that has a scale and/or GCI, you will have to replace them.
Refer to TotalCare Bed System Service Manual (MAN112).”
It also notes that an L model bed will have the correct GCI installed so it shouldn’t need to be replaced.
