    Description

    This approximately Silver Dollar-sized socalled dollar medal
    is listed by Messers. Hibler and Kappen in their book titled "So-Called Dollars" as an acknowledgement of the importance to America of its Rocket program even as far back as 1958 when this Aluminum medal was issued.
    The Convair division of General Dynamics was responsible for building the world shattering Atlas Rocket which launched John Glenn  and the Mercury astronauts into full orbit.
    This medal is in mint state and should grade as such when submitted to a professional grading service.
