    I have this vintage DDR Military M56 Helmet for sale also comes with a matching hat with the East German symbol on the front. They are both in new unused condition. The helmet cover does have a few tears on it. I took pictures of both of the tears. The tears are on the edge where the cover overlaps the rim of the Hat. The hat is marked made in East germany. This Helmet was common design for Eastern Block Military forces.It has heavy leather headband ,chin and head straps and a leatherdraw string head adjustment devise.The winter rain drop camo cover is a canvas type material.There is a concealed insect netting in the front of the head band. This helmet has a steel shell is in excellent condition. It is a very good item for a military collection, A Cold War Military history item for a collector.
