Up for sale is a complete kit to convert your Russian 40mm GOST to fully use 40mm NATO Gas Mask Filters.
Why buy/use this?  Because
most GOST Russian Gas Mask Filters contain asbestos
, so do not use them!  The 40mm NATO rated filters are more modern, have better availability, and better prices.  So, modernize your Cold War Gas Mask and use abundant, cheaper, better modern NATO filters.
This is a complete kit and it will come with the following (look at first picture):
1. Thread adapter
- To use a 40mm NATO Filter on a Russian 40mm GOST Gas Mask.  This adapter will come in Gray or Black color.
2. Two (2) Sealing Rings
- One is installed inside the adapter to make a positive airtight seal with your 40mm NATO Filter.  The second one is there to be used, if needed, between this adapter and your GOST mask for a positive airtight seal.
Like it states above, the second sealing ring between your adapter and the mask is included just in case.  Depending of the type of mask that you have, the current sealing ring already in the gas mask might be enough.  When you install your filter with this adapter, then you put on the mask and check for a positive seal (by blocking the filter intake and sucking in air).  If air is leaking inside the gas mask when you do this, then install the second sealing ring inside the intake threads on your gas mask.  Then install the adapter and filter and re-check the seal.  It should be good to go.
