  • Condition: This piece collectively is in near mint condition. The Sword and Scabbard are pristine. The Scabbard Throat to Guard retains the White Buffer Pad, the grip retains perfect Wire Wrap and Ray Skin. The Pommel, Guard, Hilt and Blade (Beautifully detailed acid etching) are all pristine. The Gold Portepee is intact and very clean. The Yellow cloth bag retains original closure string and at the flare of the cloth case has a hole (on the sewn seam) on the left side that the Finial has caused. The black Carrying Case retains the handle, the Officers name on the flap, has the left strap broken and a tear along the left seam at the flap fold (approximately 1.5" in length along the expansion seam). A very aesthetically pleasing original ensemble. (Please review all pictures).

    Offered here for your consideration is a Circa 1950's to 1960's (certainly post 1952) United States Navy Officer's Dress / Ceremonial Sword, Scabbard, Gold Portepee, Cloth Bag and Leather Carrying Case. The Sword (etched) and Black Leather Case carry the same name of a LTJG or Lieutenant Junior Grade Officer. Blade is beautifully acid etched on both sides. A very impressive piece.
